Roach crawling on the wall, RG Asian Store in Kansas City fails inspection, fresh mouse droppings on the backside of sink

The Kansas of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on November 25, 2019. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the RG Asian Store in Kansas City was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 7 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • A yucca root with mold in the reach cooler. COS, item removed.
  • Roach crawling on the wall in the ware wash area, and 2 roaches hiding behind the molding in the ware wash area. 6 fresh mouse droppings on the backside of the 3 compartment sink area. No pest control invoice provided.
  • Large #10 can with the top crush downward on the can, and a can of tomato sauce with the top dented downward on the can. COS, items removed for return of store credit.
  • Cut bamboo shoots from a can in the reach in cooler without opened container date. PIC stated the item was opened on 11-24-19 at 12PM. Item held for more than 24 hours without date marking. COS, item dated.
  • No test kit for the use of Chlorine. (sanitizer)
  • Dried food debris on the blade of knife stored on top of the make table. COS item removed for cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Raid for roaches household only (REG EPA 4822-596). PIC states he used it for the roaches. COS, item removed.
