Kansas City GNC at Legends Outlet inspection finds over 200 winged insects, Person in charge  using apple cider vinegar to catch insects

Kansas Department of Agriculture’s (KDA) food safety and lodging program conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 8/25/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the GNC at the Legends Outlets Kansas City was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 2 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • In back store room and retail area approximately 200 winged insects are present. Per PIC she is using apple cider vinegar to catch insects. The establishment currently not working with a pest control company.***Not COS.
  • Stored in store room a spray bottle pesticide used for residence. Per PIC the company ships pesticide for indoor use. EPA Reg No 239-2717, EPA Est No. 239-IA-3. COS, PIC discarded.
