Belle Plaine High School kitchen fails state inspection, “estimated 30 rodent droppings on the water inlet and drain area behind the washer and dryer in the utility closet”

The Kansas of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety and Laboratory Services conducted an unannounced retail food inspection on 2/11/2020. As a result of that inspection, and due to the severity of the specific violations the Belle Plain High School was cited as being, “Out of Compliance” with Kansas food safety regulations. During this inspection a total of 1 violations were found.

The inspector made the following comments in support of the violations found during the inspection:

  • There are an estimated 30 rodent droppings on the water inlet and drain area behind the washer and dryer in the utility closet. There are another 12 rodent droppings on the ground behind the washer and dryer. Observed two snap traps and two glue traps in the utility closet. No food or food contact items are stored in this closet.
